His successful negotiation of a $7.5 million paving bond demonstrates his commitment to maintaining and developing the city's roads and facilities. Under his leadership, the city completed 80% of the LED Lighting Project by 2019, enhancing visibility and safety. Bland also played a crucial role in the MDOT Streetscape and MDA Downtown Drainage projects, as well as the redevelopment of the city's baseball fields. Percy Bland has been a strong supporter of education and the arts, completing the Velma Young Youth & Community Center and backing the Any Given Child Arts Integration Program.
